Montgomery County 4-H Upsets Lake Houston 4-H

Shooting their highest score of the season Montgomery County 4-H upset Lake Houston 4-H 1891 to 1816 last week in the National BB Gun League. Montgomery County 4-H was able to win despite averaging 22 points lower than Lake Houston 4-H coming into this game.

Montgomery County 4-H finishes the season in fourth place in their Division with a 4 - 3 record. Montgomery County 4-H was led by Patrick Reilly who shot a 385. The remaining contributing members were Catherine Aldrich, Teddy Clark, Gavin Aranda, and Jared Haines. Montgomery County 4-H is from Conroe, TX, and is coached by Michael Reilly.

Snapping a six game win streak Lake Houston 4-H dropped to 6 - 1 on the season. They finish the season in second place in their Division. Lake Houston 4-H was led by Kayla Ressler who shot a 372. The remaining contributing members were Ainsley Day, Michael Tinker, Chance Stephens, and Rheagan Morris. Lake Houston 4-H is from Kingwood, TX, and is coached by Steven Schammel.

Thanks to their second place finish in the Distinguished Division Lake Houston 4-H is guaranteed to move up to the prestigious Champions Division in the 2018 season.

These two teams are competing in the Distinguished Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.

BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
