Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club defeats Camden County NJROTC
Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club defeated Camden County NJROTC 2399.6 to 2379.1 last week in the National Air Rifle League. Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club was led by Liam Tegeler who shot a 609.9. The remaining contributing members were Karlie Lynn, Ava Penatzer, and Trey Myers. They are from Everett, PA, and are coached by George Kuhne.
Everett Sportsman Junior Rifle Club is competing in the Champions Division where they are currently ranked in third place. Within the Junior Rifle Club Conference they are in second place. They have a 1 - 0 record.
Camden County NJROTC was led by Danjela Jordan De Jesus who shot a 602.8. The remaining contributing members were Virginia Byrd, Abigail Swain, and Skylar Sanford. Camden County NJROTC is from Kingsland, GA, and is coached by Stephen G Banta.

Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for high school teams and junior rifle clubs. The league has two parts. An 8 week regular season going on now, followed by the post-season.
The Champions Division is reserved for the top teams in the country. The top eight teams from the Champions Division regular season will compete in a single elimination tournament for the league championships.
The Distinguished Division is the second tiered team, followed by the Elite Division.
In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Standing Air Rifle match. The match is nearly identical to the air rifle events in the Olympic Games. Each athlete shoots 60 shots in the standing position, the most difficult position in rifle competitions. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10.9 points. The sum of points scored in the 60 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
