Granbury MCJROTC defeats Rio Salado Sportsman's Club
Shooting their highest score of the postseason Granbury MCJROTC defeated Rio Salado Sportsman's Club 2339 to 2286 last week in the National Air Rifle League. With the win Granbury MCJROTC advances to the league championship game to take on Georgia Competitive Shooters.
In their semi-final game Granbury MCJROTC was led by, Allison Henry who shot a 591. The remaining contributing members were Philip Becker, Makenize Sheffield, Clarissa Layland, and Elizabeth Plecity. Granbury MCJROTC is from Granbury, TX, and is coached by LtCol Scott Casey.
Rio Salado Sportsman's Club finishes the season with an 5 - 4 overall record, which includes a third place finish in the Junior Rifle Club Conference during the regular season. In their semi-final game Rio Salado Sportsman's Club was led by, Brooklyn Wilkins who shot a 577. The remaining contributing members were Roman Karadsheh, Mikayla Sedgwick, Hunter Mantle, and Isobel Letizia. Rio Salado Sportsman's Club is from Mesa, AZ, and is coached by John Karadsheh.
The championship game this week versus Granbury MCJROTC and Georgia Competitive Shooters, marks the second time these two teams have meet in the postseason. Georgia Competitive Shooters won both previous postseason games. These two teams also meet in the regular season opener this year. In this game Granbury MCJROTC won.
