Forsyth County 4-H defeats Appling Bulldogs
Forsyth County 4-H defeated Appling Bulldogs 1863 to 1830 last week in the National BB Gun League. Their fifth win in a row, Forsyth County 4-H is in second place in their Division with a 5 - 0 record. Forsyth County 4-H was led by VIVIAN MUNCE who shot a 379. The remaining contributing members were NICKY BRAZIER, PAYTON WALTMAN, SARI WATERS, and AUSTIN HAGLE . Forsyth County 4-H is from Cumming, GA, and is coached by Freddy Flannigan.
Appling Bulldogs dropped to 1 - 4 on the season. They are currently in sixth place in their Division. Appling Bulldogs was led by Ally Atkinson who shot a 386. The remaining contributing members were Susan Carter, Ethan Carter, Lane Stanley, and Alyssa Herrington. Appling Bulldogs is from Baxley, GA, and is coached by Jeffrey McLellan.
Next up Forsyth County 4-H will compete against Walton County 4-H from Monroe, GA. Walton County 4-H currently has a 4 - 1 record. Appling Bulldogs will compete against Carroll County 4-H from Bowden, GA. Carroll County 4-H currently has a 2 - 3 record.
These two teams are competing in the Champions Division of the Orion National BB Gun League. Sponsored by the Orion Scoring System, the league is a national team league for BB Gun teams. The Champions Division is comprised of the top teams in the league. The league has two parts. An 8 week round-robin regular season going on now. Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top four teams who will compete for the league championship.
BB Gun programs teach gun safety and competitive marksmanship skills to athletes 8 to 15 years of age. Each game in the league teams compete in what is known as a four-position match. Each athlete will shoots 10 shots in four different shooting positions, prone, standing, sitting and kneeling at a distance of 5m. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete's total. The team score is comprised of the best five athletes from each team.
